An Iron Maiden-loving principal won't be discharged after moms and dads petitioned her removal.
On her Instagram page, the Ontario senior high school principal shared her interest for the heavy metal group Iron Maiden. Yet those posts quickly enraged a couple of moms and dads of pupils at Eden Secondary school in St. Catharines. "I'm surprised it exploded in the method it did," states City Councillor Karrie Concierge. "It is amusing, foolish, as well as discouraging all at the same time."

Sharon Burns posted two images on her Instagram account, sharing her love of Iron Maiden. The first image reveals her putting on an Iron Maiden t shirt with a tailored license plate "IRNMADEN.".

She's also making the 'horns-up' heavy metal motion familiar to most metal followers. One more picture reveals a doll of Eddie (imagined over), the band's skeletal mascot, with a hand-drawn heart around the numbers '666.' Those pictures were way too much for a few of the parents who submitted the request.

" As worried parents with flexible youngsters at Eden High School, we are deeply disturbed that the primary designated to the college coldly revealed Satanic symbols as well as her allegiance to Satanic methods on her public social media sites systems where all the trainees can see them," the petition for her removal checks out.

But the request for the elimination of the Iron Maiden-loving principal soon encountered international backlash.
A counter-petition entitled We Required Mrs. Burns increased. "It is ridiculous that a number of moms and dads just evaluate her duty as major based on her Instagram blog posts," the counter-petition checks out. "She has made Eden a secure space for a lot of people. She spread out just love and generosity." The petition of support for the principal gained 20,000 trademarks. While the request against her? Just 553.
The Eden Secondary school representative launched a statement concerning the case. "As you can visualize, Principal Burns is fairly shocked by how her Instagram blog post led to 2 applications and also grew to be a topic of passion worldwide," says Kim Sweeney, the Chief Communications Policeman for the Area School Board of Niagra. "Our belief is that taste in music is subjective as well as we sustain that both students and also personnel enjoy a variety of categories," Sweeney adds.

No corrective action was taken versus the principal, and the concern is over regarding the school board is worried. No policy changes were made as a result of either petition.
