GR Dancing broadens dance program for kids with specials needs

 The Grand Rapids Dancing College is broadening its Explorer Dance Program: special courses created for children with impairments.



" Everybody in a neighborhood understands that we are greater than just simply a ballet college and a ballet business," claimed Attila Mosolygo, the director of the Grand Rapids Dancing Institution and also Junior Company. "We are attempting to do a lot of outreach into the community with all the various dance programs, such as the explorer dancing class."

The program includes 45-minute courses and also goes through January 2022.

" The wonderful thing about it is that they remain in a huge large dancing workshop," said Mosolygo. "They have individually interaction with their instructor. They are working regularly on sychronisation, extending, strengthening, eye and hand control, balance, all those points that we find that youngsters with disabilities can gain from."

The program occurs at the Meijer Royce Center for Dance in downtown Grand Rapids as well as at Hope College's DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland. Kids ages 10 to 19 can get involved as well as tuition is about $25/month.

Mosolygo claims dance can absolutely make a difference for everyone who obtains entailed.

" We want to see to it that people understand that ballet, it's not simply a form of home entertainment where you spruce up on a Friday night and have a date night and also go and see an efficiency, but it really, really, could be part of every person's life on a daily basis," said Mosolygo.

Classes happen Monday nights in Grand Rapids and Tuesday evenings in Holland.
